Land and Location:

This will tell about the geography of Greece. I currently don't have a map to show you exactly where Greece is, but we will work hard to get one asap. Ok on to business:
Greece is located in southeastern Europe, at about 40º N, 25º E. It is to the west of Turkey, and North of Libya and Egypt. When we get a map we will pinpoint it exactly.
Greece is a peninsula, with another peninsula (The Peloponneseus) attached to it. The isthmus connecting the two peninsulas is called the Isthmus of Corinth, which was the City-State located there.
The Pindus mountains stretched across the length of Greece, and the land was very hilly and rugged and mountainous, so they mostly travelled by sea. The Aegean sea is to the east, the Ionian sea to the west, and the Mediterranean sea to the south of Greece.
Also, Greece had many islands around it, the biggest of these was Crete. I will explain about the importance of Crete in another section. Ok, the last but not least is Mt. Olympus, a very high mountain that the Greek's beleived housed their gods.
